The families of three men who were shot dead by police in Durian Tunggal, Melaka, on Nov 24 are urging the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate officers involved in the case.
They have filed a complaint against Melaka Police Chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar, alleging abuse of power, interference in investigations, and protection of certain individuals.
Social activist Arun Dorasamy, who is representing the families, said they are calling on the MACC to open investigation papers against Dzulkhairi and other officers believed to be involved.
“We have reasonable grounds to believe there has been an abuse of power and actions that could undermine the integrity of the country’s criminal justice process,” he told reporters at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya on Friday.
The families are seeking a full and independent investigation into the incident.
