National men’s doubles player Aaron Chia is refusing to be distracted by the draw for the 2026 World Championships.
Instead of looking ahead to a possible semi-final path, Aaron said he wants to focus on his task with Soh Wooi Yik in New Delhi.
The world No. 4 pair could face fellow Malaysians Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun in the last 16, followed by China’s Chen Bo Yang and Liu Yi in the quarter-finals.
However, Aaron said the draw does not add pressure, stressing that he and Wooi Yik will focus on their matches.
The World Championships will be held from Aug 17 to 23. The pair previously made history as Malaysia’s first men’s doubles world champions in 2022.
