Two Women Charged With Cheating Retiree of Nearly RM120,000

Two women were charged at the Ipoh Magistrate’s Court with allegedly cheating a 60-year-old retiree of nearly RM120,000 over non-existent tax arrears.

Noorfarah Surina Ahmad, 42, and Nurfalah Noordin, 33, pleaded not guilty to three charges.

They were accused of offering to help settle tax arrears with the Inland Revenue Board that they allegedly knew did not exist. The victim allegedly handed over RM23,000, RM86,196 and RM10,000.

The court granted both women RM4,500 bail each with one local surety. They must also report to a police station once a month.

The case will be mentioned again on Sept 24.
