Police have obtained key information on local and international drug trafficking networks following the arrest of a Malaysian pilot in Indonesia.
Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the information was gathered after the 39-year-old pilot was questioned in Jakarta on Aug 12 and 13.
Police are also investigating how the pilot allegedly passed security checks at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The pilot was arrested at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on July 28, with about 25kg of drugs worth RM45 million reportedly seized.
Investigators are also looking into a phone number allegedly used by the pilot to contact the syndicate and possible links involving KLIA staff.
