The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will soon launch a pilot anti-corruption cadet corps programme in schools as part of efforts to nurture integrity and accountability among the younger generation.
MACC Chief Commissioner Abd Halim Aman said the initiative would be introduced in stages at selected schools before being expanded nationwide.
According to reports, the pilot programme will begin at one school in the Klang Valley and another in Terengganu, with plans to gradually extend it to other states.
“Sabah and Sarawak could also potentially become strategic partners in this initiative,” he said.
Abd Halim stressed that education and awareness from an early age are crucial in shaping a generation that rejects corruption and upholds integrity.
He added that anti-corruption efforts must continue despite financial challenges and economic uncertainties, noting that prevention remains a key component in the fight against corruption.
The MACC chief also called on the commission’s state chapters to strengthen collaborations with educational institutions and private companies to organise more integrity and anti-corruption awareness programmes across the country.
