Actress Hayden Panettiere was found unresponsive and in cardiac arrest at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina, according to emergency dispatch records.
Emergency responders were sent to the scene following a 911 call on Aug 16. Despite efforts to revive her, Panettiere was pronounced dead. She was 36.
Authorities said an investigation is ongoing. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office found no signs of trauma, while the official cause and manner of death have yet to be determined.
Dispatch audio reportedly referred to a possible overdose, but authorities have not confirmed the cause of death.
Panettiere was known for her roles in the television series Heroes and Nashville, as well as the Scream film franchise.
