As the FIFA World Cup continues across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, global football excitement has reached Bangladesh, where music producer and composer Fuad Almuqtadir has released a new track celebrating the spirit of the game.
Titled “Kandari Chol”, the song presents football as more than a sport, highlighting its deep connection with everyday life, culture, and emotion in Bangladesh.
The track features a lineup of Bangladeshi artists including Mila, Pantho Kanai, Bammy, Sanjana, and rapper Black Zang, along with Nigerian artist Oli Boy. Musically, it draws inspiration from Brazilian baile funk while blending local sounds and football-inspired energy.
According to the creators, the central message of the song is simple: football is life.
In Bangladesh, football culture extends far beyond stadiums, thriving in neighbourhood alleyways, rooftop gatherings, tea stalls, and street celebrations during major tournaments. The song aims to capture this widespread passion and shared excitement among fans.
The lyrics were written by Tiger Chowdhury, Mahbub Morshed (Shihab), Oli Boy, and Black Zang. The production combines elements of folk music, stadium chants, electronic beats, and rap, reflecting both global and local influences.
The accompanying music video was directed by Miraj Hossain and produced by Runout Films.
Speaking about the project, Fuad said the song tells a broader story of football—encompassing dreams, friendship, competition, joy, and emotion.
As the World Cup reaches its knockout stages, “Kandari Chol” stands as a Bangladeshi tribute to the sport, reinforcing a message shared by fans worldwide: football is not just a game, but a way of life.
