Former TVB actress Barbara Chan Man Yee, the widow of late Hong Kong actor Liu Kai Chi, has died at the age of 66.
According to the South China Morning Post, Chan’s sons announced that she passed away peacefully on Friday (June 12) morning at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin, Hong Kong, surrounded by family following an illness.
The family did not disclose the cause of death.
Chan was married to acclaimed actor Liu Kai Chi, who died in 2021 at the age of 66 after battling stomach cancer.
She began her acting career with TVB in the late 1970s and rose to fame throughout the 1980s, becoming a familiar face in Hong Kong television.
Among her notable works were The Bund, Born To Be King and The Legend Of The Dragon Pearl.
Her passing marks the loss of another beloved figure from Hong Kong’s golden era of television.
