A 34-year-old woman died after the Perodua Axia she was driving collided with a 10-tonne lorry carrying coconut husks at Kilometer 40 of the Gua Musang-Kuala Krai Road on Sunday.
Gua Musang district police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said the accident occurred at about 11.50am as the woman and a 47-year-old female passenger were travelling from Gua Musang towards Chiku 5.Â
The Axia reportedly collided with the lorry travelling in the opposite direction before spinning and leaving the road.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was taken to Chiku 3 Health Clinic for initial treatment. The 48-year-old lorry driver was uninjured.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
