Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has climbed six places to 128th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2027, strengthening its position as Malaysia’s second-highest ranked university.
USM said the achievement places it among the world’s top 10 per cent of universities and reflects continued progress in academic excellence, research impact, internationalisation and sustainability.
The university ranked 61st worldwide for International Students and 100th globally for International Research Network (IRN), making it Malaysia’s top institution in the latter category.
USM Vice-Chancellor Abdul Rahman Mohamed said the ranking improvement highlights the university’s growing global reputation and commitment to high-impact research, international collaboration and talent development.
