Rosmah’s Bid to Delay RM67.5 Million Jewellery Payment Rejected

The Court of Appeal has rejected Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s application for an unconditional stay on the RM67.5 million payment ordered in a dispute involving 43 missing pieces of jewellery.

A three-member panel ruled that there were no sufficient grounds to grant the unconditional stay and ordered Rosmah to pay RM30,000 in legal costs.

On June 10, the High Court ordered Rosmah to pay RM67,461,027.37 to Lebanon-based jeweller Global Royalty Trading SAL after finding her liable for the loss of 43 jewellery pieces.

The High Court later granted a conditional stay, requiring the full amount to be deposited into a joint stakeholder account maintained by lawyers for both sides.

Rosmah’s main appeal against the High Court judgment is scheduled to be heard on March 25, 2027.
