For scam-related content, Facebook accounted for 53 per cent, followed by TikTok at 39 per cent and Threads at five per cent.

From Jan 1 to Aug 17 this year, the government requested social media platforms to remove 470,593 pieces of harmful content.

Of the total, platforms agreed to remove 436,661 pieces, or 93 per cent.
