Authorities Seize RM57,638 Worth of Items in Subsidised LPG Investigation

Officers from the Kedah Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry have uncovered suspected misuse of government-subsidised LPG at an oil palm plantation in Kuala Ketil, Baling.

During a raid at about 1pm on Aug 17, authorities seized 30 LPG cylinders weighing 14kg each, 10 industrial gas cylinders weighing 50kg each, 17 hoses and a lorry.

The total value of the seized items was estimated at RM57,638.

No suspects were found at the scene. Authorities believe those involved may have fled after learning about the raid.

The case is being investigated under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

Kedah Domestic Trade and Cost of Living director Mohamad Nizam Jamaludin warned that stern action would be taken against those who misuse government-subsidised goods.
