Heavy rain caused flash floods at Zoo Negara, with several areas of the zoo submerged in water.
Videos shared online showed muddy floodwater covering pathways and areas around several animal enclosures.
Water levels were also seen rising around the hippopotamus enclosure as rain continued to fall.
Zoo staff and members of the Gombak Volunteer Fire Brigade were seen working at the scene during the incident.
Zoo Negara Deputy President Datuk Rosly Lana later confirmed that all animals were safe despite the flooding.
The incident occurred amid heavy rain and thunderstorms affecting several areas in the country. MetMalaysia has also issued weather warnings for several areas, including parts of Selangor.
