Malaysian powerhouse vocalist Jaclyn Victor will fulfil a long-held dream when she stages her first solo concert with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) on Oct 17.
Titled “Jaclyn Victor – Gemilang Bersama MPO”, the 90-minute concert will be held at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas and conducted by Ahmad Muriz Che Rose.
The 48-year-old singer will perform around 20 songs, including popular hits such as “Gemilang”, “Ikut Rentakku”, “Di Bawah Pohon Asmara” and “Beribu Sesalan”, with new symphonic arrangements.

The concert will also see Jaclyn taking on Italian classical opera for the first time, performing “O Mio Babbino Caro” and “Time to Say Goodbye”.
Jaclyn said performing with the MPO was one of her biggest dreams and described the opportunity as one of the most meaningful milestones in her singing career.
She will also perform songs in different languages and genres, including “Tunggu Sekejap”, “When I Fall In Love”, “Superwoman”, “Diamonds Are Forever” and “Defying Gravity”.
Ahmad Muriz said he deliberately challenged Jaclyn to step outside her comfort zone and showcase a different side of her vocal abilities.
The concert will feature arrangements by several prominent music arrangers, including Aubrey Suwito, Luqman Aziz, Gerard Salonga and Ahmad Muriz.
