Eight people were killed and three others injured in a fire at a ground-floor commercial outlet in north China’s Hebei Province early Thursday, local authorities said, reported Xinhua.
The fire broke out at about 3.40 am at the outlet in Haigang District of Qinhuangdao City, the district government said.
Firefighters, police officers, emergency management personnel and medical workers quickly arrived at the site for rescue operations, and the fire was extinguished at 4.30 am, the district government said.
The three injured people were sent to hospital for treatment and are in stable condition.
Further investigation into the fire is underway.
