The Health Ministry is continuing discussions on healthcare matters related to Sabah’s claims under the Malaysia Agreement 1963, or MA63.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the discussions involve Sabah’s health autonomy, overlapping authority, staff appointments and healthcare facilities.
He said the ministry is working with the Sabah Health Department to carry out several plans, including the opening of the Sabah Heart Centre, hospital refurbishment, addressing manpower concerns and improving the state’s overall healthcare system.
Dzulkefly said the ongoing discussions have produced positive results, with the focus now on implementing the plans.
He said the healthcare issues are among the matters being discussed under Sabah’s MA63 claims.
