Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has commended the Communications Ministry for its effective communication in explaining the implementation of the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) initiative, describing it as one of the best examples of government policy communication to the public.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said the clear and consistent explanation of the programme had helped enhance public understanding and reduce confusion over its implementation.
“I believe the greatest success of this ministry is in relation to BUDI95. When a clearer explanation is provided, it does not create many problems,” he said.
“Once again, I congratulate our colleagues, Fahmi (Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil), the KSU (Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah), and the entire Communications Ministry workforce for their dedication in effectively delivering information to the people,” he said.
He said this while speaking at the Communications Ministry’s monthly assembly here today.
Also present were Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Deputy Communications Minister Datuk Teo Nie Ching, and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.
Anwar added that although a small number of parties had raised concerns over fuel price adjustments, the implementation of BUDI95 demonstrated that effective communication could improve public acceptance of government policies.
BUDI95 is a MADANI Government initiative that provides RON95 petrol at a subsidised price of RM1.99 per litre for Malaysians.
