An oil tanker carrying petroleum products collided with the Sungai Johor Bridge along the Senai-Desaru Expressway in Kota Tinggi this afternoon.
The Malaysian-flagged vessel is believed to have struck the bridge at about 2.35pm while travelling along the western route between Penawar and Pasir Gudang, near KM48.9.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Despite the collision, the bridge structure was reported to remain stable, with no major damage or defects detected so far.
The vessel was subsequently moved away from the area following the incident.
The Senai-Desaru Expressway management is expected to issue an official statement on the incident soon.
