A total of 99,693 scam-related posts were removed from social media platforms as of July 15, already surpassing the 98,503 posts removed throughout 2025.
Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission had submitted 106,268 removal requests to platforms including Meta, TikTok and YouTube.
She said the platforms have the final decision on whether content is removed, although compliance for scam-related cases is usually above 90 per cent.
