A 28-year-old man was found dead in the bathroom of a house in Jalan Masjid Baung Bayan here yesterday.
Kota Bharu Police chief Mohd Azmir Damiri said the victim, who worked in Pasir Gudang, Johor, had reportedly returned to his hometown for a holiday on May 16.
“According to the victim’s aunt, she went to the bathroom and noticed blood on the floor before discovering the victim, with a knife in his hand.
“Police examinations confirmed two stab wounds on the man’s chin, one on the neck and another on the abdomen. However, no signs of a struggle or criminal elements were found at the scene,” he said in a statement today.
Mohd Azmir said further investigations revealed that the victim had no history of illness, but had allegedly been involved in drug abuse over the past year after beginning work in Johor.
The body was sent to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for a post-mortem, and the case has been classified as a sudden death, while the investigations are ongoing.
