A human skull believed to belong to an adult male was discovered in the waters off Sedili after becoming entangled in a local fisherman’s net on June 6.
Kota Tinggi police chief Yusof Othman said the skull was found by a 44-year-old boat skipper at about 3am before being handed over to the police.
The remains were subsequently sent to the forensic unit at Kota Tinggi Hospital for further examination.
“The skull is believed to belong to an adult male aged between 20 and 30,” Yusof said, adding that the case has been classified as a sudden death report.
Police are appealing to members of the public with missing family members or information related to the case to come forward to assist in investigations.
