HAZE: 11 AREAS RECORD UNHEALTHY API READINGS WITH SRI AMAN, SERIAN HIGHEST AT 174

Eleven areas nationwide recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 11 am today.

According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, three areas in Sarawak recorded unhealthy readings: Sri Aman and Serian (174) and Kuching (135).

Meanwhile, eight areas in Peninsular Malaysia also recorded unhealthy API readings, with the highest recorded at Johan Setia, Selangor (158), followed by Cheras in Kuala Lumpur (153), Nilai and Seremban (152 and 147), Pasir Gudang and Larkin, Johor (145 and 136), Putrajaya (134) and Alor Gajah, Melaka (115).

Overall, 55 areas recorded moderate API readings, while two areas recorded good readings.

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and 301 and above hazardous.
