Five people were killed and 22 others injured after a six-wheeler truck carrying 39 passengers overturned on a mountain road in Kabayan town in Benguet province, northern Philippines, on Thursday morning, said local authorities, reported Xinhua.
The Kabayan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said it received a report at around 10 am local time, and that the accident was due to a mechanical failure.
According to an initial investigation, five deaths were confirmed, including two boys aged three and 11.
Ten passengers suffered serious injuries, including head trauma and fractures, while 12 others, including the truck driver, sustained minor injuries.
