The death of a 14-year-old student during a rugby training session has left his family devastated, as the teenager had no known medical history and was known for his active lifestyle.
His father, Mohd Aswandi Wahid, 41, said his eldest son, Muhammad Raiyan Nufael, was passionate about sports and had earned a place at the Melaka Rugby Academy due to his dedication and fitness.
The Form Two student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Telok Mas reportedly collapsed while listening to a briefing from his coach after a break during training at about 6 p.m. yesterday.

Despite the tragedy, Mohd Aswandi said he accepts the loss of his son as God’s will.
