Factory Manager Charged with Cheating Former Employer Over Palm Oil Inventory

A 39-year-old factory manager based in South Africa has pleaded not guilty to a charge of cheating his former employer over falsified palm oil inventory records.

T. Logeswaran was charged in the Ipoh Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday before Magistrate Norhizan Riduan. He is accused of concealing the actual palm oil stock and submitting false records indicating that 741.618 metric tonnes had been produced between March 14 and June 21, 2024, at a mill owned by Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (KLK).

The alleged offence was intended to mislead the company into accepting the records as accurate. He was charged under Section 417 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both upon conviction.

The court granted Logeswaran bail of RM10,000 with two family members as sureties. The case has been fixed for mention and document submission on Aug. 6.
