Bursa Malaysia Opens Higher On Resilient Domestic Fundamentals

Bursa Malaysia opened higher on Wednesday, supported by resilient domestic fundamentals, although the ongoing earnings season is expected to keep investors cautious.

At 9.05am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rose 2.86 points to 1,739.19, compared with Monday’s close of 1,736.33. The market was closed on Tuesday for the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.

Gainers outnumbered losers, with 203 stocks advancing against 184 declining. Turnover stood at 180.39 million shares worth RM141.92 million.

Analysts said the market is expected to trade cautiously with a mildly positive bias, while corporate earnings and company developments continue to influence individual stocks.
