MyEG, Zetrix AI Suspension Will Not Disrupt JPJ Services – Anthony Loke

The suspension of MyEG Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd, under MYEG Group, as Road Transport Department (JPJ) revenue collection agents, which took effect today, will not disrupt services to the public, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said.

He said transactions could continue through alternative channels, including the MyJPJ app, JPJ Public Portal, counters and kiosks.

For non-Malaysians paying traffic summonses at the Malaysia-Singapore border, JPJ has deployed mobile counters at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex and Bangunan Sultan Iskandar in Johor from 8 am to 10 pm.

“This is to ensure summons payments can be made smoothly at both entry points,” he told a press conference today.

For the KPP01 driving theory test, Loke said candidates could use 85 approved driving institutes offering computerised tests instead of relying on MyEG-operated test centres.

The minister said the alternatives were possible because the government had moved in recent years to reduce reliance on a single agent and open services to more providers.

“If I had not taken steps two years ago to open this service to other driving institutes, we would not be able to suspend them today,” he said.

Loke said revenue collection agents were still needed as about 20 per cent of users continued to rely on them, particularly for driving licence and road tax payments.

Besides MYEG, he said Pos Malaysia remained important, particularly in rural areas where customers still used post offices for such transactions.

However, the government was moving towards wider use of MyJPJ app to allow users to deal directly with JPJ without third-party intermediaries.

Loke said transactions through MyJPJ had grown rapidly, with more features to be introduced from next month.

He also assured users who had made payments through MyEG before the suspension that their transactions would not be affected, as renewed licences remained valid.

MyEG and Zetrix AI were suspended as JPJ revenue collection agents from today after failing to transfer RM314 million in government revenue collected between May 19 and Sept 30.

Loke said the government would also take appropriate legal action to recover the full outstanding amount.
