The retail prices of RON97 and unsubsidised RON95 petrol will fall by five sen per litre, while unsubsidised diesel will drop by 15 sen from Oct 1 to 7.
The new prices are:
- RON97: RM5.00 per litre
- RON95 without subsidy: RM4.52 per litre
- Diesel without subsidy: RM5.27 per litre
The reduction follows a moderation in average global crude oil prices during the latest Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) calculation period, following the resumption of operations along Saudi Arabia’s East-West Pipeline.
The Ministry of Finance said increased supplies of refined petroleum products in Asia also helped ease some pressure on regional fuel prices.Â
For eligible BUDI95 recipients, RON95 remains at RM1.99 per litre, with the government bearing a subsidy of RM2.53 per litre. BUDI Diesel recipients will continue paying RM2.10 per litre, with a RM3.17 per litre subsidy.
OF said global petroleum prices remain volatile due to uneven recovery in refining capacity and ongoing geopolitical tensions.
