Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow will make a two-day working visit to Malaysia from Sept 6 to 7.
According to PR Thai Government, the visit is aimed at following up on discussions and advancing matters raised by the leaders of both countries during the Thai Prime Minister’s official visit to Malaysia on July 9 and 10.
Sihasak will be accompanied by National Intelligence Agency director Thanat Suwannanon and the head of the Peace Dialogue Panel for Thailand’s southern border provinces.
The delegation is scheduled to meet Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan to discuss border security and joint development in border areas.
Discussions are expected to focus on infrastructure development, improving road and rail connectivity, as well as constructing additional sections of the border fence to prevent and combat illegal cross-border activities.
The cooperation is expected to strengthen security and connectivity between Malaysia and Thailand while supporting economic development and improving the well-being of communities on both sides of the border.
