Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has ordered an immediate and thorough investigation into a crash involving an Immigration Department truck at Maju Junction in Kuala Lumpur.
The crash killed three members of a family, while another family member was injured and taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
According to preliminary police investigations, the Immigration Department truck allegedly entered the Jalan Sultan Ismail intersection against a red light while its beacon lights and siren were activated.
The truck collided with a Proton Saga before skidding into four pedestrians from the same family and another vehicle.
Police have detained the Immigration truck driver and the Proton Saga driver to assist investigations.
Anwar said firm action must be taken if negligence or any breach of the law is found.
