US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said the United States can maintain its blockade on Iranian ports for as long as needed.
He said Iran was aware that it could not move in and out through the blockade, adding that no time limit had been set.
President Donald Trump earlier claimed that the US had “full control” of the Strait of Hormuz and vowed to maintain the naval blockade.
However, Iranian military officials rejected the claim, calling it false and baseless.
The blockade remains part of ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran.
