Man Charged After Woman Hurt in Alleged Ipoh House Robbery

A 49-year-old unemployed man has been charged with hurting a woman during an alleged robbery at her home in Taman Batu Gajah Perdana.

Lee Koon Yew pleaded not guilty at the Ipoh Sessions Court to a charge under Section 394 of the Penal Code.

The incident allegedly happened at about 11.40am on Aug 8. The 26-year-old victim was carrying her two-month-old child and later received hospital treatment.

The court set bail at RM8,000 with one surety. Lee was also ordered to surrender his passport, report to a police station monthly and not disturb witnesses.

The case will be mentioned again on Sept 23.
