A fisherman has sparked a rescue effort after discovering a group of starving cats stranded on an abandoned floating structure off Pulau Ketam, Klang.
Angler Syafiq Suhaime spotted the cats and said many appeared severely underweight and hungry. He was unable to rescue them all because he was alone on an inflatable boat.
After Syafiq shared footage of the cats on TikTok, animal lovers travelled to the area to help.
So far, 10 cats have been rescued, but an estimated five to eight cats are still believed to be at the site.
The rescued cats are reportedly suffering from severe malnutrition and need urgent medical treatment. Rescue efforts are continuing to bring the remaining animals to safety.
