Mostafizur Rahman, a renowned television personality, producer and former Director-General of Bangladesh Television (BTV), died on Sunday evening (July 26). His death was confirmed by media personality Kha Ma Harun through a social media post.
Rahman was a key figure in the golden era of BTV, producing acclaimed Bengali television dramas including Sokal Shondha, Eishob Dinratri and Shankhonil Karagar. He later contributed to Bangladesh’s private television industry by helping establish Banglavision and GTV (Gazi TV).
Throughout his career, Rahman also mentored many media professionals and was widely respected for his role in developing talent and shaping Bangladesh’s television industry.
