Two 14-Year-Old Schoolgirls Found Dead at Abandoned Flats in Ipoh

Two 14-year-old schoolgirls were found dead after they were believed to have fallen from an upper floor of the abandoned Sungai Pari Flats near Buntong yesterday.

The two girls were close friends and studied at the same school in Ipoh. They attended the afternoon school session.

Perak police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said initial investigations found that the girls had allegedly left the school compound on their own before they were later found unconscious at the flats.

He said that, so far, there is no evidence to suggest that any other person was involved in the incident.

However, he added that investigations are still ongoing. The actual cause of death will only be confirmed after the post-mortem examination and forensic analysis are completed.

Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Ipoh district police headquarters operations room at 05-2451500 or the nearest police station to assist with the investigation.

Mohd Alwi also expressed his condolences to the families of the two victims and asked the public to respect their privacy.

Photos of the two schoolgirls have been widely shared on social media. They were still wearing their school sports attire when they were found at about 5pm.
