MACC Probes Graft Allegations Involving Johor Poll Candidate

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is investigating alleged corruption involving a candidate contesting the 16th Johor state election.

MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said the agency had received three reports related to election bribery, including one from an Election Campaign Enforcement Team in Batu Pahat.

He declined to disclose further details, saying the investigation must remain impartial and free from any perception of bias.

Abd Halim said the MACC would take action against anyone found involved in election-related corruption, regardless of whether they are candidates, political parties, voters or supporters, adding that all reports are being assessed and investigated under the law.
