Singapore recorded 119 dengue cases in the week ending June 13, the highest weekly total reported so far this year, according to the National Environment Agency (NEA).
The figure represents an increase of 39 cases compared to the previous week, based on data from the Ministry of Health’s Communicable Diseases Division.
As of June 15, authorities reported 12 active dengue clusters across the country, including four classified as red-alert clusters.
The NEA has urged residents to remain vigilant and eliminate mosquito breeding sites to reduce the risk of dengue transmission, warning that Singapore has entered its traditional peak dengue season from May to October.
The agency noted that the country’s tropical climate and high population density provide favourable conditions for mosquitoes to breed throughout the year, with warmer temperatures during the peak season accelerating mosquito development and virus transmission.
