
A 28-year-old man with 16 previous criminal records was injured after police fired shots during a car chase near Johor Zoo on Thursday.
Johor police chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad said the suspect was driving a Honda City with a 29-year-old woman when police pursued the vehicle for about one kilometre along Jalan Gertak Merah.
Police fired two shots after the car allegedly rammed several civilian vehicles. One shot struck the man in the head. He is receiving treatment at Sultanah Aminah Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The case is being investigated under several laws, including provisions relating to attempted murder, dangerous driving and drug offences.
