Spider-Man: Brand New Day could return to cinemas in a re-release featuring previously unseen footage, although Sony Pictures and Marvel have yet to officially announce a release date.
One of the possible additions is a deleted scene featuring Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, a character from Marvel’s Netflix-era series. Dawson had previously revealed that she filmed a scene for the film, but it was ultimately removed from the theatrical version.
Reports suggest other additional material could also be included, but details remain under wraps.
The Tom Holland-led film has performed strongly at the box office, with reports putting its worldwide earnings at around US$2.5 billion. A re-release could give the film another opportunity to extend its theatrical run.
Sony has not yet confirmed when the new version will be released or exactly what extra footage will be included.
