Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his condolences on the passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, who died this morning.
Anwar described the passing of the wife of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a great loss to society and the nation.
He said this before delivering the opening address at the International Future Conference 2026 (IFC 2026) at the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation (ISTAC) of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Kuala Lumpur campus here today.
The Prime Minister also invited conference participants to join in reciting *Surah Al-Fatihah* for the deceased.
Earlier, Dr Siti Hasmah was confirmed to have passed away at the National Heart Institute (IJN) this morning at the age of 100.
