A total of 169 people aged between 12 and 52 fell ill after having dinner at a boarding school in Lenggong on Sept 9.
Perak state executive councillor Datuk A. Sivanesan said those affected experienced symptoms including vomiting, diarrhoea and headaches.
All of them received treatment at the Lenggong Health Clinic, with none requiring hospitalisation.
Food samples from the school, along with samples collected from those affected, have been sent for laboratory testing to determine the cause of the incident.
Sivanesan said the exact bacteria or germ responsible could only be confirmed after the test results are available.
He said health officers would also conduct a detailed inspection of the school canteen four days later, focusing on its cleanliness and hygiene conditions.
A decision on whether the canteen will be allowed to resume operations will be made based on the findings of the inspection.
