Six Hikers Missing in Kelantan Were in Good Condition, Say Police

Six hikers feared missing after entering the forest from Pos Dakoh, Gua Musang, were in good condition when they last contacted their families on Sept 1, police said.

Gerik district police chief Supt Abdul Samad Othman said the group made contact with their families at about 7.47am that day before continuing their journey towards Perak.

The group, comprising a family of four and two mountain guides, began their hike on Aug 29 and were expected to exit the forest through Pos Kemar, Perak, on Sept 3.

However, their families had not heard from them by Sept 6, prompting a police report and the launch of a search and rescue operation.

The missing group has been identified as Wan Ahmad Aslam Wan Zairudin, 39; his wife, Siti Zulaiha Norizan, 39; their children Diya Raisha, 13, and Ahmad Raef, nine; and guides Shafiee Sidek, 49, and Hazman Mamat, 43.

Authorities are conducting search operations along the trail on the Perak side as efforts continue to locate the six hikers
