Perak Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching has rejected calls for the state assembly to be dissolved early, saying it could disrupt ongoing development plans and penalise voters.
The Teja assemblyman said the Perak unity government should be allowed to complete its remaining term and deliver planned initiatives instead of rushing into an early election.
She said dissolving the state assembly after only three years would disrupt government operations and ongoing development programmes.
Ng also said the state government, led by Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, continued to have strong momentum, supported by federal funding and positive economic indicators.
Her comments came amid growing calls from Barisan Nasional and Umno leaders for state and federal elections to be held earlier.
Ng said the administration should use the remaining year to complete its agenda.
She also revealed that Perak is preparing senior-friendly housing adaptations for the Perak 2027 Budget, with pilot projects planned in selected districts.
