Police have arrested a 69-year-old foreign national who allegedly caused a disturbance at a supermarket in the Larkin area of Johor Bahru.
Johor Bahru Selatan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Azri Hisham said the man allegedly verbally abused employees, threatened them with a cleaning brush fitted with an iron rod, and disturbed customers.
Initial investigations found that the incident reportedly began after an argument with an employee over alleged failure to return the correct change after a payment.
Police said the man resisted arrest and a struggle occurred, requiring minimum force to restrain him.
The suspect has no previous criminal record, while a urine test found no evidence of drug use. He has been remanded for four days to assist investigations.
The public has also been urged not to share videos related to the incident on social media
