A Chinese police officer rescued a family of five from a car left dangling over a steep slope after a crash while on his honeymoon in Hainan on July 20. Fan Kaiyue, 28, stopped after spotting the smoke-filled vehicle and, with the help of other motorists, safely rescued three children and two adults before emergency services arrived.
Despite suffering cuts and abrasions during the rescue, Fan continued assisting medical personnel until local police took over. The rescued family survived the crash, with the children sustaining minor injuries and the driver suffering a bone fracture. Fan’s actions have been widely praised, while his wife, Gu Jianing, said she was proud of him.
