Man Dies at Bukit Maras Summit, Police Classify Case as Sudden Death

A 55-year-old man was found unconscious at the summit of Bukit Maras here yesterday evening and was later pronounced dead by a medical team.

Kuala Nerus Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) operations commander Muhammad Al Fadil Mat Amin said the department received an emergency call at 6.48pm and deployed six personnel from the Kuala Nerus Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) to the scene.

The victim, identified as Nazli A. Hamid, was placed on a stretcher before rescue personnel carried him down from the summit to the foot of the hill using a utility vehicle.

Muhammad Al Fadil said the victim’s body was later handed over to the police for further action.

Meanwhile, Kuala Terengganu police chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor confirmed the incident and said the case has been classified as a sudden death.
