Thunderstorm warning issued for six states and Labuan until 2pm

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for six states and the Federal Territory of Labuan, effective until 2pm today.

In a statement, MetMalaysia said thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected to affect parts of Perak, including Kerian, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak, as well as Sabak Bernam and Kuala Selangor in Selangor.

Similar weather conditions are also forecast for Jempol and Tampin in Negeri Sembilan, Alor Gajah and Jasin in Melaka, and Kota Tinggi in Johor.

In Sabah, the affected areas include Kuala Penyu and Beaufort in the Interior Division, Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud in the West Coast Division, as well as Kudat.

The public is advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and follow instructions issued by the relevant authorities during the warning period.
