Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has wished Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who leads Pakatan Harapan (PH), success in the Johor state election this Saturday.
Anutin conveyed his message at the end of a joint press conference with the Malaysian Prime Minister during his two-day official visit to Malaysia.
“I wish you the best of luck for the upcoming election in Johor,” he said.
The Johor state election, scheduled for Saturday, will see 172 candidates contesting 56 seats in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN).
Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) are both fielding candidates in all 56 constituencies.
Meanwhile, Anwar described his meeting with Anutin as cordial and productive.
“Please come to Malaysia again because you make us feel very comfortable, happy and at ease,” Anwar said.
“Such a relationship is not common among many countries. It exists because Thailand is a very important country to Malaysia.”
