US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian formally signed a peace agreement aimed at ending months of conflict in the Middle East during a ceremony linked to the G7 summit in France.
Trump signed the memorandum of understanding during a dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the historic Palace of Versailles. Before signing the document, Trump told assembled leaders and guests: “This was not easy — that I can tell you.”
After putting his signature on the agreement, Trump held up the signed document to applause from attendees, including Macron and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The agreement marks a significant step toward ending hostilities and opens the way for further negotiations between Washington and Tehra
